When technology issues occur, they cost businesses a lot of money in lost revenue and productivity. This was the case for Farm-Wey Produce, Inc., a company that makes 90% of their revenue between May and August. These months are also extremely busy ones for Farm-Wey, and it’s critical that technology issues don’t interrupt their business operations. So, when their server went down during this period of time, they were worried that it could ruin any hope of profitability for the season.

Alltek Came To The Rescue

When Farm-Wey’s server died, Alltek got them back up and running right away using a Business Disaster Recovery (BDR) plan. A BDR plan is implemented when a disaster occurs that destroys a business’s IT resources, equipment, and data. After installing a new server and implementing the BDR plan, Farm-Wey’s server was up and running again within two hours, and without any data loss.

Ensuring that operations were functional in a timely manner was important, because the server died during the company’s highest revenue income months. The summer is Farm-Wey’s prime growing season; it’s an extremely busy time for them and other produce companies, and any interruptions to business operations can be disastrous.

Thanks to Alltek, Farm-Wey knows that their data will now be protected no matter what. Alltek has been working with Farm-Wey Produce for about 10 years.  Vicki Baker, Comptroller at Farm-Wey said:

“They’re [Alltek Staff] here in a flash, everyone immediately calls Alltek and a technician appears; it’s wonderful! They’re a great company and they provide a great service.”
