LAKELAND, FL – It may be a less-than-common occurrence, but every now and then we meet someone who is truly selfless: an individual who is willing to give for the greater good. Alltek is fortunate enough to have someone like that on our team.

Alltek is thrilled to announce that team member Charles “Chuck” Donaghe has been recognized as the Bay News 9 “Volunteer of The Year.”

Chuck was recognized for devoting countless volunteer hours in the local area. Among his contributions, Chuck has put his skills to good use by mentoring and coaching troubled youth on how to repair, refurbish, and recycle computer equipment.

Alltek teamed up with Eckerd Kids to provide internships through a program termed “Project Bridge.” This program offers youth aged 16-18 an opportunity to learn valuable skills while rejoining their communities after spending time in the juvenile justice system. Chuck served as a leader and as an advocate for their learning and development.

“I loved it. It was a rewarding experience and the kids really enjoyed themselves,” Chuck stated as he reflected on the experience. “One of the former interns now has a paid position at Best Buy and is working his way up to management.”

Alltek continues to promote education and seek new opportunities to help our community. Our team is strong because we seek out professionals who align with our core values. Chuck is a testament to our commitment to the community and one example of how one person can change the lives of many.
